Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen. It is used for selfies, video calls and facial recognition when the device supports it. A faulty front camera often shows up as a black, blurred or distorted image, or as no image at all during video calls.
This part is a camera compatible with the Huawei P9 (2016), made by a third party. It lets you replace the faulty module without changing the whole screen. Before you start, switch the phone off, place it on a clean surface and use a suction cup or a flat tool to lift the screen carefully. Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables and work in an area free of static electricity, for example by touching an earthed metal surface.
After fitting, check that the camera works before fully closing the device: test a photo and a video call. If the image remains abnormal, reopen the phone and check that the ribbon cable is properly connected. Do not expose the battery to excessive heat and do not puncture or bend it.
