Description
The front camera is the module that captures your face during video calls, selfies and face unlock. This part, compatible with the Pixel 4a, lets you replace a faulty module, for example if the image is blurred, black or distorted, or if the camera no longer opens.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables. Work on a clean, flat surface with an anti-static tool, as static electricity can damage components. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery and do not use a device whose battery is swollen. Keep heat moderate during disassembly.
Once reassembly is complete, check that the camera app opens, that photos and videos can be taken with the front camera, and that face unlock works. If the phone does not run stably, carry out a few full charge cycles to check the device's overall behaviour.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before any work
- Use an anti-static tool and work on a clean surface
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery
- Do not use the device if the battery is swollen
- Test the front camera and face unlock after reassembly
