Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This compatible part for the Pixel 7 lets you replace the front camera when it is faulty: blurred, black or distorted image, impossible focus, or a camera that no longer starts in apps.
This is a compatible part, made by a third party. It is the most economical option for repairing your phone yourself. Before you start, switch the device off completely, work on a clean surface and use a suitable tool to open the screen. Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, and avoid electrostatic discharge by touching an earthed metal surface. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and stop using the device if the battery is swollen.
After fitting, check that the front camera works in the camera app and during a video call, then check that the screen is watertight and closes properly before putting the phone back into service.
Tips
- Switch off the Pixel 7 and disconnect the battery before any work
- Work on a clean surface and protect the screen during disassembly
- Handle the ribbon cables carefully so they are not bent or torn
- Check the front camera in the camera app and during a video call
- Check that the screen closes properly before putting the phone back into service
