Description
The front camera is the camera module on the front of the phone, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the Pixel 7a, lets you replace a damaged module, for example if images are blurry, there are dark areas, colours look abnormal, or the camera no longer activates.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and prepare a clean, well-lit workspace. Use an anti-static tool and avoid touching the circuits unnecessarily. For fitting, disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, and never puncture or bend the lithium battery. If it is swollen, stop using it.
After reassembly, check that the camera works before fully closing the phone: test photo, video and focus, and make sure the sensor is not obstructed. Once the device is closed, carry out a few full charge cycles to make sure it operates stably.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before any work
- Use an anti-static tool to protect the circuits
- Handle the ribbon cables carefully and do not force the connectors
- Test photo, video and focus before closing the phone
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery; if swollen, stop using it
