Description
The front camera is the photo module located at the front of the phone, used for selfies and video calls. This camera compatible with the Pixel 8 replaces a faulty module, for example when the image is blurred, black or absent, or when the camera app closes on its own. It is a part made by a third party, designed to fit this model.
Before you start, switch off the phone, work on a clean surface and use a suitable tool. Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, avoid any contact with metal parts and beware of static electricity. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery. If it is swollen, stop using the phone.
After fitting, check the image in the camera app, test the front and rear cameras, then make a short video call. If the phone heats up abnormally, stop and check the connections. A few full charge cycles will then confirm that the whole assembly works stably.
