Description
The front camera is the small camera module on the screen side, used for selfies, video calls and video conferencing. This compatible part is designed for the Stylo 3. It lets you replace a faulty module when the image is blurred, black or distorted, or when the phone no longer detects the camera.
Before you start, switch off the device and disconnect the battery when the procedure requires it, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean surface and discharge static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. Do not use a metal tool to lift the ribbon cables and do not bend the cable.
After fitting, check the operation with the camera app, testing both the front camera and the rear camera. Then charge the phone normally and watch that it does not overheat. If the battery swells or the device gets very hot, stop using it immediately.
Tips
- Disconnect the battery before touching the internal ribbon cables
- Avoid static electricity: touch a metal surface before you start
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery
- Check that the ribbon cable is properly clipped in before closing up
- Test the front and rear cameras before refitting the back cover
