Description
This front camera is the photo module located on the front of the phone, near the screen. It is used for selfies, video calls and facial recognition when the phone supports it. A faulty front camera usually shows up as a black, blurred or distorted image, unusual colours, or a missing camera module in apps.
This is a part compatible with the Stylo 4, made by a third party. Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if the disassembly procedure requires it. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static tool or by regularly touching an earthed metal surface to limit static electricity. Ribbon cables are fragile: do not bend them and never force the connectors.
After fitting, first check that the device starts, then test the front camera, the microphone and the display in the camera app and during a video call. If the battery was disconnected or the device has been unused for a long time, a few full charge cycles can help stabilise its operation. If the battery is swollen, do not use it.
