Description
The front camera is the photo module located at the front of the tablet, used for video conferences, video calls and selfie photos. This compatible part replaces the faulty module of the Surface Go (2018) when the image is blurred, black, frozen or absent in apps that use the camera.
Before you start, switch off the tablet completely and unplug its mains adapter. Prepare a small screwdriver suited to Torx screws and a flat plastic tool to separate parts without damaging them. Work on a clean surface and arrange the screws in a precise order to make reassembly easier. Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, and never bend the lithium battery: if it looks swollen, stop using the tablet and contact a suitable recycling facility. Avoid excessive heat and protect the components from static electricity.
After assembly, reconnect the battery, power the tablet on and check the camera in the Camera app as well as in a video conferencing app. Check sharpness, brightness and focus before closing the casing completely.
