Description
The front camera is the module that lets you take photos and join video calls from the front of the tablet. This compatible part is designed for the Surface Pro (2013). It is used to replace a faulty module, for example when the image is blurred, black, missing in video apps or works only intermittently.
Before you start, switch the tablet off completely and unplug its power supply. Work on a clean surface with a suitable tool, and avoid static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components. Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, and never bend flexible cables.
After fitting, switch the device back on and test the camera in the photo app, then in a video call app. If the image is still faulty, check that the ribbon cable is properly connected before drawing any conclusion. A swollen battery must never be used: do not puncture it or bend it.
