Description
This compatible front camera replaces the photo and video module located at the front of the Surface Pro 4 (2015). It is used for video calls, video conferences and front-facing photos. If the camera no longer switches on, shows a black or blurred image, or is no longer recognised by Windows, this module may be the cause of the fault.
Before fitting, switch the tablet off completely and unplug the charger. Work on a clean, flat surface with a suitable screwdriver and, if possible, a plastic spudger to lift the screen. Disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables, and avoid contact with the components by using an anti-static wrist strap or by regularly discharging yourself on a metal surface. Never drill, bend or crush the lithium battery.
After reassembly, switch the device back on and check that the camera is detected in Device Manager, then test it in the Camera app and in a video conferencing application. If the original part was faulty, also check the drivers through Windows Update.
