Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front module of your Surface Pro 7 Plus (2021). It is used for video conferencing, video calls and facial recognition for Windows Hello sign-in. If your camera no longer switches on, shows a black image or is no longer detected by the system, this part may meet your needs.
Before you start, switch the tablet off completely, unplug the charger and work on a clean, well-lit surface. Note the position of the screws and connectors, as the ribbon cables are thin and fragile. Disconnect the battery before touching the cables, and wear an anti-static wrist strap if you have one. Never force a connector.
Once the module is refitted, switch the device back on and check that the camera is recognised in Device Manager, then test it in a video app. Check Windows Hello as well. If the battery was disconnected, let the device charge normally and carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise operation.
Tips
- Switch off and unplug the tablet before any work
- Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables
- Use an anti-static wrist strap and a clean work surface
- Check the camera in Device Manager after fitting
- Never puncture, bend or use a battery that is damaged or swollen
Fitting
Fitting guide: work with the device switched off, disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, keep the screws in order and test the part before closing up. A question before ordering? Write to us.
