Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front camera module of the Tab A (2018) tablet. It is used for video calls, selfies and face recognition when the function is supported. When the front camera is cracked, blurry, black or no longer appears in apps, this part restores a sharp image and normal operation.
Before you start, switch the tablet off completely and disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it. Work on a clean, flat surface, using a plastic opening tool to avoid scratching the chassis. Discharge static electricity from your body by touching an earthed metal surface. Do not heat the device and, if the worn battery is swollen, stop using it and handle it with care.
Once the module is fitted, reconnect the battery and switch the tablet on. Test the front camera in the camera app and in a video conferencing app, checking sharpness and focus. Let the battery go through a few full charging cycles to stabilise the assembly.
