Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies, video calls and face unlock. This compatible part replaces the faulty front camera of the Tribute 5. It helps you get a sharp image back during video calls and front-facing photos.
It fixes the common faults of this module: blurred or black image, distorted photos, camera no longer launching in the photo app. If the screen seems fine but the front camera does not respond, this part may be the solution. Before you start, switch off the device, remove the battery if the model allows it, and work on a clean surface, away from static electricity.
When fitting, disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables and avoid bending the flexible cable. After reassembly, check the image in the photo app, test the camera in video mode, then check that face unlock works properly if you use it. If the battery is swollen, do not use it any more.
