Description
The front camera is the small camera module on the front of the device, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the Tribute HD, lets you replace a faulty front camera that is blurry, black or no longer switches on.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with a suitable screwdriver and a flat plastic tool to open the casing without scratching it. Avoid static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface before handling the components.
Once fitted, power the device back on and test the camera before closing the casing completely. Check focus, brightness and operation in a photo app and in a video call app. If the image remains abnormal, recheck the connection of the ribbon cable before concluding there is a fault with the part.

- Handle the ribbon cable carefully, without bending it or forcing the connector
- Test the camera before closing the casing
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery
