Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This compatible part for the Xiaomi 17 lets you replace a damaged module, for example if the image is blurry, dark or spotted, or if the camera no longer starts.
Before you begin, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery when the procedure requires it. Work on a clean, flat surface, using a plastic opening tool to avoid scratching the chassis. Static electricity can damage sensitive components: touch an earthed metal surface before handling the flex cables.
Once the fitting is complete, switch the device back on and test the camera before fully closing the case: check sharpness, brightness and the selfie function in the camera app. If the old battery is swollen, do not use it and do not puncture or bend it.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before touching the flex cables
- Use a plastic tool to avoid scratching the chassis
- Avoid static electricity: touch a metal surface before you start
- Test the camera before closing the case
- Do not bend the flex cables or force the connectors
