Description
The front camera is the module that captures the image during video calls, selfies and unlocking the phone with facial recognition, depending on the features supported by your model. This part compatible with the Xperia 5 is used to replace a damaged module, for example when the image is blurred, black, distorted or absent, or when the camera no longer launches.
Before you begin, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it, to avoid short circuits and static discharges. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use suitable tools so you do not damage the clips or the ribbon cable. Handle the module by its edges, without touching the lens. Moderate heat is enough to loosen an adhesive: never force it.
After fitting, check that the camera is recognised in the camera app, test video, the screen flash if present and facial recognition. Check the water resistance by closing the housing carefully. If the battery was removed, refit it without bending or puncturing it, and check that it is not swollen before using it again.
