Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, next to the speaker. It is used for photos and videos in selfie mode, as well as for video calls. When it stops working, the image is blurred, black, frozen or missing, and the camera app may show an error. This front camera, compatible with the Xperia XZ, replaces the current part when it is damaged.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if the disassembly guide recommends it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and avoid sudden movements on the delicate ribbon cables. Handle the part by its edges so you do not touch the sensor. Work away from any major heat source.
After fitting, check that the camera is detected in the camera app, then test taking a photo and a video in selfie mode. Also check the seal by refitting the front without forcing it.
