Description
The front camera is the camera module on the front of the phone, used for selfies and video calls. This compatible part for the Xperia Z3V lets you replace a damaged module, for example if the image is blurred, black or vertical, or if the camera is no longer detected by the device.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean, flat surface, using a plastic opening tool to avoid scratching the chassis. Electrostatic discharge can damage components, so earth yourself by touching a grounded metal object before handling the part.
After fitting, check that the camera works in the camera app and in a video conferencing app. Also check that the proximity sensor and the screen respond correctly, then close the casing without forcing it. If the device overheats or a battery appears swollen, stop the repair and do not use the device again.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before any work
- Use a plastic tool to open the casing without scratching it
- Avoid static electricity: discharge yourself before touching the part
- Check the camera and sensors before closing the phone
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery
Fitting
Fitting guide: work with the device switched off, disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, keep the screws in order and test the part before closing up. A question before ordering? Write to us.
