Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the ZenFone 5z, lets you replace a damaged module, for example when the image is blurred, grainy, black or missing. It is a third-party manufacture, offering an economical solution to repair your device.
Before any work, switch off the smartphone completely and remove the battery if the disassembly requires it. Work on a clean, flat surface with suitable tools and do not force the delicate connectors. Protect your components from static electricity by avoiding synthetic mats and regularly touching an earthed metal surface. Ribbon cables are fragile: disconnect the battery power before handling them.
Once assembly is complete, check that the camera works properly before fully closing the device: test the photo, video and video call, then check brightness and focus. If the device has a swollen battery, do not use it and never puncture or bend it.
