Description
The bokeh sensor is a small secondary image sensor mounted on the rear camera of the Huawei P40 Lite E (2020). It does not capture the main photo. Its role is to help the phone estimate the depth of the scene, so that the background blur effect appears in portrait mode. When it fails or becomes faulty, portrait mode may stop working, the background stays sharp, or the camera app reports a module error. This compatible part lets you replace the faulty sensor without changing the entire camera block.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery where the design allows. Work on a clean surface, using an anti-static mat or earthing yourself to limit electrostatic discharges, which can damage fine components. Never force the connectors and handle the ribbon cables carefully, without bending them.
After fitting, check the rear camera and test portrait mode on several subjects. If the battery was disconnected, let the device charge and carry out a few full charge cycles to make sure the system is stable. A swollen or damaged battery must never be used.
