Description
The proximity sensor iPhone 14 Plus is a small component placed near the screen, at the top of the device. It detects when the phone is held to the ear during a call and then switches off the screen to avoid accidental touches. It also helps Face ID facial recognition work correctly by providing information on distance and presence in front of the screen.
A fault with this sensor is often noticed when the screen stays on during a call, when the touchscreen reacts by itself near the ear, or when the brightness no longer adjusts properly. Face unlock may also become unstable. This compatible part is a third-party manufacture, offered as an economical solution to get your iPhone 14 Plus back into service.
Before fitting, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and do not use a swollen cell. After reassembly, check operation with a test call, then check face recognition and screen brightness.
