Description
The proximity sensor is a small flexible flex cable that detects the presence of your face or an object close to the screen. On the iPhone 7 Plus, it is used in particular to switch off the screen during a phone call, so that buttons are not pressed accidentally against the cheek, and to keep face recognition working when it is combined with the front-panel sensors.
This part is a compatible premium, made by a high-end third-party manufacturer with a result close to the original. It is intended for faults where the sensor no longer responds, where the screen stays black during calls or does not switch back on properly. Before any repair, switch off the device, disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it and work on a clean surface. Avoid static electricity by touching a metal earth, and handle the flex cable by its edges, without bending it or forcing its connectors.
After fitting, check the function by passing your hand over the top of the screen during a test call. Also check that the flex cable has no play and that the frame closes properly. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and never puncture it.
