Description
This Galaxy S3 sensor is a compatible spare part designed to replace the current component in the device. It detects the presence and position of the face or proximity, depending on the component concerned, and allows certain functions linked to the screen and face recognition to work properly. If the sensor is faulty, you may notice that the screen brightness no longer adjusts, that the screen stays black during a call, or that face unlock no longer responds.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery when the procedure requires it. Work on a clean surface with suitable tools, and keep the small screws in a container so they do not get lost. Handle the sensor by its edges, without touching the sensitive surface, and avoid static electricity discharges.
After fitting, check the operation before closing the device completely: test the automatic brightness, detection during a call and face recognition. If a fault persists, check the connection of the ribbon cable and the correct seating of the component again.
