Description
This sensor flex cable, also called the Face ID sensor cable, is a compatible spare part for the OnePlus 3 model. It sits between the motherboard and the module that detects your face and the ambient light. When it is damaged, the screen may stop recognising your face, brightness can change for no reason, or some functions linked to detection may stop working. This fault is often noticed after a fall or a knock to the top of the device.
Before replacing it, prepare a clean, well-lit workspace free of static electricity. Use an anti-static wrist strap if you have one, and keep the small screws in a separate container so they do not get mixed up. Switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, as a connection handled badly can damage the part or the board.
After fitting, check the function before closing the casing completely. Test face detection, automatic brightness and the call ringtone, then refit the screws without forcing them. If a behaviour remains abnormal, open the device again and recheck the connectors.
