Description
The sensor flex cable for Pixel 3a is a small flexible part that connects the display sensors to the device's logic board. It carries the proximity and brightness data, as well as the information used by the Face ID system. When it fails, the phone may no longer detect the distance to your face, switch off the screen during a call, or stop unlocking with facial recognition.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It takes over the functions of the original part for the Pixel 3a model, but its appearance and components may differ slightly. Before disassembly, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean surface. Avoid bending the connectors and handle the cable by its edges to limit the risk of static electricity.
After fitting, check that proximity detection works during a call, that brightness adjusts correctly and that Face ID is recognised in the settings. If a problem persists, check that the connectors are properly clipped in before reassembling the rest of the device.
