Description
The mid-frame is the internal structural part of the K8 (2017) device. It supports the electronic components, holds the motherboard, battery and other modules in place, and ensures the rigidity of the whole assembly. A cracked, warped or damaged part can cause mechanical play, loose connections or problems when fitting the screen and the casing. This US version is an original manufacturer part or an official Service Pack part, with a finish and battery life identical to new.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and note the position of each screw so you do not mix them up. Never force the connectors and do not bend the ribbon cables. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture it.
Once the assembly is finished, check that the screws are properly tightened, that there is no play in the structure, and that the buttons and connectors work correctly. If the battery was replaced at the same time, carry out a few full charge cycles before judging its battery life.
