Description
The charging connector is the small component that links the USB port of your OnePlus 5 to the motherboard. It carries power to the battery and allows data to be synchronised with a computer. When it is worn, dirty or damaged, the phone may charge intermittently, stop recognising the cable, or only charge in one particular position.
This compatible part replaces the faulty connector of the current component. Before fitting, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean surface and protect yourself from static electricity, for example by touching a metal earth. Do not bend the ribbon cables and avoid excessive heat when desoldering.
After reassembly, check charging with several cables and on a mains socket. If the battery was disconnected, let it go through a few full charge and discharge cycles to regain stable operation. If the battery is swollen, stop using it.
