Description
The charging connector is the small component that links the USB-C port of your Pixel 8a to the motherboard. It is what allows the battery to recharge and data to transfer when you plug in a cable.
This compatible part is made by a third party to replace the worn or damaged connector. It fixes the most common faults: a phone that no longer charges, charging that cuts out when the cable is moved, or a dirty port that no longer recognises accessories.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface with anti-static tools. After fitting, test charging with several cables, then let the device complete a few full charge cycles to check stability.
Tips
- Switch off and disconnect the battery before any work
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery
- Swollen battery: do not use it and set it aside
- Use anti-static tools and a clean work surface
- Test charging with several cables after fitting
