Description
The LCD connector is the small part that links the screen to the motherboard of your device. On the iPad 4 (2012), it carries the signals that display the image and respond to touch. When it is damaged, the screen may show lines, black areas, an unstable display or may not switch on at all. Before you start, switch the iPad 4 (2012) off completely and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an antistatic tool if possible, to avoid discharging the electronics. Never force the retaining tabs and do not bend the ribbon cables. If the battery is swollen, do not try to repair it: do not puncture it, bend it or use it any more.
Once the fitting is done, check the display, brightness and touch response before closing the device. Watch for heat during the first tests and stop if the device becomes abnormally hot. Run a few full tests before putting your iPad 4 (2012) back into service.
