Description
The iPhone 11 2-pin diode is an electronic component that lets current pass in one direction only. It protects a circuit against reverse polarity and rectifies certain signals inside a device. When it fails, you may notice a device that no longer switches on, an unstable power supply or localised overheating on the board.
Before replacing this diode, disconnect the device, remove the battery if possible and work on a clean, anti-static surface. Check the fitting direction carefully, because a diode fitted the wrong way round can damage other components. Use a soldering iron at a moderate temperature and avoid heating the circuit tracks for too long.
After fitting, check the continuity and orientation of the diode with a multimeter before powering the device back on. Then switch the device on under supervision and check that it does not overheat abnormally. This part is compatible, it is not original: the current part can be visually compared before removal, and careful checking helps limit the risk of a new fault.
