Description
This replacement screen is designed for the iPad 8 (2020). It combines the touch glass and the display panel, which are the visible and touch-sensitive parts of the tablet. It lets you replace a cracked screen, a mottled display, touch areas that no longer respond or an image that is deteriorating. This is a compatible part: it is made by a third party and offers high-end OLED screens, with a rendering close to the original.
Before you start, switch the tablet off completely and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible. Gently warm the edges with a hair dryer on a moderate setting to soften the adhesive, never going beyond lukewarm heat. Do not bend or puncture the lithium battery: if it is swollen, stop using the tablet and do not attempt a repair.
After fitting, check the touch response in all areas, the brightness, the colours and the correct operation of the sensors before closing the device. If you are also replacing the battery, carry out a few full charge cycles so that the power management recalibrates.
