Description
This replacement screen is designed for the iPod Touch 4. It replaces the current part when it is cracked, scratched, blackened, or no longer responds correctly to touch. It is a compatible premium part, made by a high-end third-party manufacturer with an OLED panel. Its display is close to that of the current part, while remaining a compatible part.
Before you begin, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface, with a suitable screwdriver and a flat tool to separate the components without forcing them. Handle the part by its edges to limit the risk of static electricity. Take the time to identify each screw and each connector carefully.
Once assembly is complete, check the operation before closing everything up: display, touch response across the whole surface, brightness, and absence of dead pixels. If the battery has been handled, carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise its operation. Never puncture or bend the battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
