Description
This compatible screen replaces the screen of a Nintendo 2DS. It is the part that displays the console's image: if it is cracked, black, streaked with lines or hard to read, this replacement often restores a clear and usable display. It is a compatible part, made by a third party, and not a part supplied by the manufacturer.
Before you start, switch off the console, remove the battery and work on a clean, well-lit surface. Keep the small screws in a tray so they don't get lost. Touch a metal part of the frame to discharge static electricity, and avoid touching the connectors of the ribbon cable. To release the parts, work patiently and without forcing them: a hinge or a fragile cable breaks easily. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture or bend it.
After fitting, reconnect the battery, switch on the console and check the display across the whole surface, the brightness, the touch function and the orientation. If no image appears, reconnect the ribbon cable and check that it is properly seated. Once the console is reassembled, test it across several uses before considering it ready.
Tips
- Switch off the console and remove the battery before any work
- Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables
- Discharge static electricity by touching a metal part
- Never puncture or bend a swollen battery
- Check the display, brightness and touch function after fitting
