Description
This compatible screen replaces the display panel and touch glass of the Passport when these are cracked, scratched or no longer respond to touch. It is a third-party part designed to fit the Passport model. Once fitted, it restores the display and touch control of the device.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and keep the small screws in a tray so they do not get lost. Avoid heating the device too much to loosen the panel, and never bend the lithium battery: if it is swollen, do not try to reuse it.
After assembly, check how the screen works, the touch response in the corners, the brightness and the sensors near the screen. If the device stays switched on for several days, it can help to charge and discharge the battery a few times so it stabilises, while keeping in mind that the current part may have been damaged by a drop or overheating.
