Description
This compatible screen replaces the touch panel and display of your Y9 (2018) when they are damaged. It restores a sharp image and a responsive touch area, for example after a drop that cracked the glass, or in case of dead pixels, coloured bands or no display at all.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use suitable tools to open the casing without forcing it. Keep the small screws in a set order to make reassembly easier. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
After fitting, check the display, brightness and touch response across the whole surface before closing the casing. If you notice a fault, reconnect the screen and check the ribbon cable connections. If you have replaced the battery, let it go through a few full charge cycles to stabilise its operation.
