Description
The LED flash Edge (XT2519 / 2025) is the small light module next to the rear camera lens. It lights up the scene when you take photos in the dark or against the light, and it also works as a torch from the quick settings. When it stops lighting up, night photos turn out dark or overexposed and the torch no longer responds, which is often linked to this component or its connection ribbon.
This part is a compatible premium version, made by a high-end third-party manufacturer. It delivers performance close to the original at a more affordable cost, but it is not an original part. Before starting, switch the device off, remove the battery if possible and work on a clean surface, away from static electricity. An anti-static wrist strap or simply touching an earthed metal surface reduces this risk.
After fitting, switch the device back on and test the flash when taking photos, then the torch, in several lighting conditions. If the battery was disconnected, let it recharge calmly, without excessive heat. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using any device whose battery is swollen.
