Description
The internal speaker, or earpiece, is the small component that plays sound during a phone call. Located at the top of the device, it lets you hear the other person when you hold the phone to your ear. This compatible part fits the iPhone 17 (US version) and replaces the faulty earpiece.
A earpiece that no longer works often shows up as a call where you hear nothing, a quiet or distorted sound, or crackling. Before starting the replacement, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use suitable tools so you do not damage the connectors.
After fitting, check the sound by making a test call and by checking the volume of the earpiece as well as the main speaker. If the battery was disconnected, restart the device before finishing. Always handle the battery with care: do not puncture it, do not bend it, and do not keep using a swollen battery.
