Description
The internal speaker, also called the earpiece, is the small component that carries your caller's voice during phone calls. It sits in the upper part of the device, near the screen, and lets you hear clearly without using the main speaker. This part is intended for the One E8 model.
A faulty earpiece shows up as weak, muffled, crackling or completely absent sound during calls. Replacing it restores normal listening. Before dismantling the device, it is advisable to check that the fault does not come from a volume setting or a grille blocked by dust.
Before any work, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery when the guide or the disassembly requires it. Work on a clean surface with suitable tools, and protect the components from static electricity. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and do not use a swollen battery. After fitting, test the sound during a call, then check audio in both directions.
