This compatible speaker is designed for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, US version. It is the device's internal speaker, the one that plays ringtones, notifications, calls on speakerphone and music. When it weakens, crackles, buzzes or stays silent, the sound becomes hard to hear or distorted. Replacing it usually restores normal sound, provided the fault really comes from this component and not from the software or the connector.
Before you start, switch the iPhone 17 Pro Max off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and keep the small screws in a dedicated compartment. Do not drill, bend or apply pressure to the lithium battery. A swollen battery must no longer be used. Avoid any excessive heat source during disassembly.
After reassembly, check the sound with music, the ringtone and the phone's speaker, then test calls on speakerphone. Also check that the microphone and earpiece still work. If the result is not satisfactory, recheck the ribbon cable connection and that the component is properly seated before concluding.
