Description
This compatible screen seal is designed for the MacBook Pro 13" A2159 (2019) model. It is a self-adhesive foam seal that sits between the frame and the glass or display module. Its role is to seal the device against dust and water splashes and to keep the screen firmly in place within its chassis. It is useful when the current seal has come unstuck, torn or worn after opening the device, or when moisture gets in around the screen.
Before you start, switch off the device and disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it. Prepare a clean, well-lit workspace, then carefully remove any residue of the old adhesive with a plastic tool, without scratching the frame. Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and allowing it to dry fully noticeably improves the grip of the new seal. To avoid static electricity, do not work on a carpet or a surface that rubs.
After fitting, check the alignment of the screen, that there is no play, and that the display and touch function work properly before closing the device completely. Never puncture, bend or crush a lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
