This Galaxy S9 Plus fingerprint sensor is a biometric sensor that lets you unlock the phone and authorise certain payments or access with your finger. It fits into the designated area of the button or chassis and connects the fingerprint recognition to the motherboard. When it stops responding, you often notice slow recognition, the inability to register a finger, or an error message linked to the sensor. This part is a compatible version made by a third party, offered as an economical option for a repair at home.
Before fitting, switch off the device, disconnect the battery if the sensor cable is accessible, and work on a clean surface. Use an anti-static tool and avoid touching the gold contacts with your fingers. Never force the fine connectors and do not bend the cable.
After reassembly, switch the device back on and check in the settings that the sensor is detected. Register a fingerprint again and test several presses to check consistency. If the battery was disconnected, let it charge normally. If the battery is swollen, do not use it.
