Description
The SIM reader is the connector that holds your device's SIM card. It provides the electrical contact between the card and the telephony module, so that the device recognises the card and can connect to the network. This component is offered for the iPhone 16 Plus model, in its US version. The part offered is a compatible version, made by a third party. It lets you replace a worn or damaged SIM reader, particularly when the card is no longer detected, gets stuck or stays poorly seated.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and remove the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface with suitable tools, and avoid static electricity by discharging yourself beforehand. Keep the small screws aside and note the orientation of the connector before removing it. Handle the ribbon cables with care, without bending or forcing them.
Once reassembly is complete, check that the SIM card is detected and that the network appears. If your device has a battery, charge it normally and carry out a few full charge cycles to make sure it works properly. If in doubt, stop and go back through the steps.
