Description
This set contains 10 compatible diodes for the Xbox One S. These are small electronic components that let current pass in one direction only and protect certain circuits against reverse polarity or voltage spikes. They can be used to replace a faulty diode on the console's electronic board, for example when it is causing power or start-up problems. This part is of Compatible quality, made by a third party: it is suitable for repair, but it is not identical to the current part.
Before you begin, unplug the console, remove the power cable and wait a few minutes. Work on a clean surface, with a soldering iron at a moderate temperature and an anti-static station or earthing wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge. Identify the diode to be replaced precisely from its mounting direction and marking, and note it down before desoldering.
After fitting, carefully check the solder joints under a microscope or magnifying glass, with no solder bridges between the pads. Reconnect the console and monitor its operation for several minutes. If it overheats abnormally or smells of burning, cut the power immediately.
