Description
This pack of 10 adhesive foam seals is designed for the iPhone 7 Plus. It is a double-sided foam gasket placed between the internal components and the frame or screen, to hold the part in place and limit dust ingress and vibrations. This type of foam is often replaced when it has come loose, become deformed or worn, particularly after opening the device to change a screen or a battery.
Before you start, prepare a clean, well-lit workspace and a tray to store the screws. Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables and use an anti-static wrist strap if possible. Carefully remove the old foam with a plastic spudger, without forcing or tearing the connectors, then clean the surfaces with a lint-free cloth.
After fitting, check that the foam is correctly positioned and that no cable is trapped. Switch the device back on and test the screen, touch response and buttons before closing the case completely.
