Description
This second-generation 8N8 EEPROM memory is an electronic component designed for the iPhone 15 Plus model. It stores board configuration data, such as certain settings and operating parameters, even when the device is switched off. If this component is faulty, the device may show abnormal behaviour at start-up or errors related to its configuration. This part is compatible, meaning it is manufactured by a different manufacturer from the original one.
Before any work, switch off the device, disconnect it and remove the battery if the board is accessible. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static wrist strap or earthing, to prevent electrostatic discharge. Use moderate heat when desoldering and avoid forcing the circuit board tracks. Note the position and orientation of the current part before removing it, then check those of the new component before soldering it.
After fitting, inspect the solder joints with a magnifier and check that there is no short circuit. Then switch the device back on gradually and observe its start-up behaviour. If a lithium battery is present, do not puncture it, bend it or use a swollen battery.
