Description
The microphone is the small component that picks up your voice during calls, voice messages and video recordings. When it fails, the person you are speaking to hears you poorly, faintly or not at all, and videos are sometimes silent. This part, compatible with the Pixel range, replaces the faulty microphone without changing the whole device, which makes it an economical repair.
Before you start, switch off the smartphone completely and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean surface with good lighting, and protect the components from static electricity, for example by touching a metal earth before touching the part. Never bend the ribbon cables and do not force the connectors. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture or bend it.
After fitting, check the operation by making a test call, recording a voice message and checking a video. If the battery was replaced or disconnected, carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise its operation.
