Description
The microphone is the component that picks up your voice during calls, voice messages and recordings. When it fails, the person you are speaking to may hear you poorly, very faintly, or not at all. This part, compatible with the Galaxy S6 Edge, lets you replace a faulty microphone, which is often the most economical way to get good call quality back.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if you have one, to limit the risks linked to static electricity. Note the position and orientation of each connector before disconnecting it, and never force a fragile ribbon cable. If you come across a swollen or damaged battery, do not handle it: do not puncture it and do not bend it.
Once reassembly is complete, switch the device back on and test the microphone during a call, a voice recording and a video. Also check that the device stays only moderately warm during use. If the sound remains poor, check the connection of the ribbon cable and the absence of dust or debris around the component.
