Description
This compatible microphone replaces the built-in microphone of your iPad Mini 1 (2012). It picks up your voice during video calls, audio recordings, dictation and when using Siri. When it fails, the person you are speaking to often can't hear you well, sounds come out distorted, or there is no sound at all in recordings.
Before you start, switch the tablet off completely and disconnect the battery, as the microphone is linked to the motherboard by a fragile ribbon cable. Work on a clean surface, with suitable tools, and avoid excessive heat. Also watch out for static electricity: touch an earthed metal surface before handling the components.
After fitting, check that it works by making a test recording and a video call. Make sure the ribbon cable is properly clipped in and that the casing closes without forcing it. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and do not use a swollen cell.

- Handle the ribbon cable with care, it tears easily
- Avoid static electricity by earthing yourself
- Test the microphone with a recording before closing up
- Do not force the casing shut after fitting
