Description
This microphone is a compatible spare part for the iPad Mini 3, released in 2014. It picks up your voice during calls, video recordings and voice messages. When the microphone is faulty, the person you are speaking to may hear you poorly or not at all, or the recording sounds muffled or silent.
Before you start, switch off the tablet, disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cables, and work on a clean surface free of static electricity. Use moderate heat if you need to lift an adhesive, and avoid any contact with the lithium battery. If the battery is swollen, stop using it.
Once the microphone is fitted and the device reassembled, check its operation with an audio recording app and a test call. If the battery was disconnected, let it go through a few full charging cycles to return to normal behaviour.
