Description
The microphone is the component that picks up your voice during calls, video recordings and voice messages. On the iPad Mini 6 (2021), a faulty microphone often shows up as a caller who can barely hear you, a muffled sound or videos without voice. This compatible part replaces the defective microphone so you get clear sound pickup again.
Before starting, switch the tablet off completely and unplug it. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, as static electricity can damage electronic components. To reach the microphone, the device has to be opened: always disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, and handle the cable carefully so it is not bent or torn. Gently warm the edge of the screen with a heat gun at a moderate setting to soften the adhesive, and never exceed a reasonable temperature.
After fitting, check the microphone before closing the tablet: record a short voice message and play it back. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and do not puncture or bend it. Once the tablet is closed, test the device again and carry out a few full charge cycles to make sure everything is stable.
